---- — Otsego County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a former Milford man for grand larceny on Friday after he allegedly purchased an indoor hydroponics grow closet and failed to pay for it.
Eddy Gue Sr., 36, of Oneonta, allegedly purchased the $2,400 grow closet from a San Francisco company in October, but did not pay for it after it was delivered in late November, Otsego deputies said.
The company contacted the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division after numerous unsuccessful attempts to recover the money from Gue, deputies said. Gue was interviewed in March by investigators and admitted to purchasing the closet with no intent to pay for it.
Gue turned himself in on Friday at the Sheriff’s Office and was arrested for fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, deputies said. Gue was issued an appearance ticket and will return to the Milford Town Court on Tuesday.
Assistant District Attorney Marvin Parshall, Jr. is prosecuting the case, deputies said. If convicted, Gue faces up to four years in prison.
