---- — Facilities in Delaware and Schoharie counties were among the area libraries included in the $14 million in capital funds for public library construction in the 2012 state budget.
The Sidney Memorial Public Library will received $36,600 for an accessibility project. The Sharon Springs Free Library will receive $27,829 to improve accessibility, while the Community Library will receive $31,065 for projects to insure patron safety, according to a release from Sen. James Seward, R-Milford.
“Our libraries are hubs for countless activities and are vital to our communities, especially in these tough economic times” Seward said. “Libraries are also some of the most historic landmarks we have and are in need of repairs and upgrades to ensure their future viability and accessibility.”
