---- — About 150 elected officials, business leaders and educators are expected to attend today’s summit in Oneonta on economic development, organizers said.
State Sen. James Seward, R-Milford, has called for the meeting, which will be at the Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center at 24 Market St. in the city. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and closing remarks will before noon.
Seward will be hosting the event in conjunction with the Otsego County Development Corp., the Otsego County Industrial Development Agency, the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce and Citizen Voices.
The summit is a follow-up to Seward’s 2012 summit and will feature several speakers.
Robert E. Geer, acting president of SUNY Institute of Technology, will give the keynote address, after which will be round-table discussions, according to an agenda. Richard J. Sheehy of CH2M HILL, a consulting, design, build, operations and program management, firm, also will speak.
