Troopers, in conjunction with Oneonta police, the state Liquor Authority and the State University College of Technology at Delhi, used an underage operative and conducted local area bar checks, a media release said. The investigation was in the village of Stamford in Delaware County and in the city of Oneonta.

The businesses were targeted based upon repeated reports of underage drinking, troopers said.

The Belvedere Country Inn at 10 Academy St. in Stamford passed the trooper and Liquor Authority inspection.

In Oneonta, Adrian E. Origoni, 40, an Oneonta town resident and owner of the Sip n’ Sail Tavern at 80 Water St. in the city, was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale to a person under 21 for allegedly selling to the underage operative, troopers said.
