A trial is set to start this week for a Virginia man accused of killing a public school official who previously had worked in the region.
Anthony Taglianetti has been charged with fatally shooting 51-year-old Keith Reed Jr. outside his rural Chautauqua County home last September.
Authorities have said Taglianetti believed the superintendent of the Clymer Central School District was involved with his wife, the Associated Press reported.
Reed served as a principal at Sherburne-Earlville Central School from 2005 to 2011.
Taglianetti was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Virginia eight days after Reed’s body was found.
Taglianetti has pleaded not guilty, the AP said, and jury selection is to start Tuesday.
