Group to host Sidney debates

Friends of Sustainable Sidney is sponsoring two debates for Sidney town offices Thursday.

The events will take place between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Sidney Memorial Public Library. The public is welcome at 5:30 p.m. to submit questions.

The four candidates candidates for town council, will debate from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a similar discussion between the two candidates running for supervisor, said Albert Crudo a founding member of Sustainable Sidney.

Daily Star editor Sam Pollak will be the moderator for both segments.

Running for town board are incumbent Pete Cordes and Paul Muratore, both Democrats, an John Woodyshek and Jody Proffitt, both Republicans. Candidates for town supervisor are council member Bill Heath, a Democrat, and Eugene Pigford, a Republican.
