---- — Sidney village residents and business members are invited to take part in a two-day session that will help develop a long-term community recovery plan for the village, officials said.

The sessions take place at the high school auditorium. Today from 7 to 9 p.m., workshop groups will be developed and topics will be identified. On Saturday, the session from 2 to 4 p.m. will include consolidating work and focusing on specific points. From 5 to 7 p.m., the final results will be presented with a discussion.

Sidney Mayor Andrew Matviak said the effort is being developed with funds the village received from the state following 2011 flooding to develop a long-term strategic plan. He was hoping there is a good turnout from all segments of the community to “help us shape where we want to go.”

Sidney Economic Development Director John Redente said the plan is need for the village to be successful for various state and federal grants.

“We need to get the whole community involved,” he said.
