---- — Voters OK Delhi school project
Voters in the Delaware Academy Central School District in Delhi approved a $7.75 million capital improvement project Tuesday by a vote of 211 to 87, the superintendent said.
The project includes security enhancements, work on the middle school gym, high school roof replacements and improving energy efficiency, Superintendent Jason Thomson said previously. With state reimbursement rate of 73 percent and use of capital reserve funds, there is no impact on the tax levy, he said.
Police: Four downtown burglaries reported
Oneonta city police are investigating four burglaries downtown early Tuesday and warning residents to lock doors to their homes and vehicles.
Lt. Douglas Brenner said burglaries were at residences on Central Avenue, Cedar Street and Ford Avenue sometime after midnight Monday. Cash and personal property were taken, he said, and none of the break-ins involved forced entry, which indicated locks weren’t securing premises.
“We advise residents to lock their doors and windows,” Brenner said Tuesday. Car doors also should be locked, he said, and motion-detector lights are a good idea. He also recommended that money and valuables not be left in plain sight.
