An Edmeston man arrested on a drug possession charge last month has been charged with selling heroin, a media release from Otsego County deputies said.
Thomas Nicholas Tukalo, 28, of 16 Burdick Ave., was charged Monday with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, deputies said.
He had been in Otsego County jail on bail since his Jan. 25 arrest on possession of heroin with intent to sell, deputies said. After arraignment Monday on the drug-sale charge before Edmeston Town Judge Amanda Conklin, who set bail at $25,000, Tukalo was returned to jail.
Tukalo is accused of selling heroin to another person in the town of Edmeston in early January, based on a probe by the sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Oneonta Police Department, the release said.
Tukalo faces up to nine years in prison if convicted on the drug-sale charge, deputies said.
