---- — World-class blues music will once again be coming to Chenango County this weekend.
The 21st annual Chenango Blues Festival returns to the Chenango County Fairgrounds in Norwich this Friday and Saturday, to the excitement of music fans in the area, and beyond.
This year’s festival will feature 12 different acts from around the country.
They include San Francisco’s California Honeydrops, “Hobo” blues guitarist Pinecone Fletcher and Grammy nominee Shemekia Copeland. Also playing will be Royal Southern Brotherhood, which features Cyril Neville and Devon Allman, of the famous Allman and Neville musical families.
Admission to Friday’s concert is free, while tickets for Saturday’s concert will be $30 at the gate. Advanced tickets can be purchased for $20 at the Chenango County Chamber of Commerce in Norwich, The Blarney Stone Pub in Norwich, The Eighth Note in Oneonta, Music City in Binghamton and Sound Garden in Syracuse. Online ticket sales are closed.
There will also be craft and food vendors on-site, including Timi’s Greek Foods, Fine Line Graphics and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.
The schedule for the Friday night show consists of Pinecone Fletcher from 6 to 6:45 p.m., Tinsley Ellis from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. and Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers from 9:00 to 10:30 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule on the tent stage is Tas Cru from 1 to 1:45 p.m., Valerie June from 3 to 4 p.m., Ben Prestage from 5:20 to 6:30 p.m. and the Honey Island Swamp Band from 8 to 9:15 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule on the infield stage features Chris O’Leary from noon to 1 p.m., the California Honeydrops from 1:45 to 3 p.m., the Larry McCray Band from 4 to 5:20 p.m., Shemekia Copeland from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and Royal Southern Brotherhood from 9:15 p.m. until close.
Gates open at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
