Organizers of a “planning and visioning” workshop for the town of Guilford are asking “all residents, property owners, civic groups, businesses, and government officials” to join in developing a comprehensive plan for the town.
The workshop, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, is open to the public and will be held at the Guilford Town Hall at 223 Marble Road.
During the workshop, a facilitator will lead participants through several activities designed to develop a town-wide vision statement and goals. According to the release, “participants will work in small groups in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.”
“It is important that the comprehensive plan is developed to address issues of concern to the residents and land owners in the Town of Guilford,” Supervisor George Seneck said in the release. “The strength of a plan comes when it is developed with the input from a diversity of people involved in the process. This workshop is a great opportunity to get lots of people involved in establishing a vision and to set goals our town can work towards. Everyone’s input is important and it will contribute towards the plan.”
The information learned at the workshop will be added to the draft Guilford Comprehensive Plan. The plan will be used by town government to guide physical growth, land use, recreation, infrastructure and community development for the next 10 to 15 years.
