State police reported Thursday that a 37-year-old Franklin man is facing charges of felony aggravated driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a one-car accident on state Highway 7 in the town of Otego.
Jason Knapp allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .14 percent following the crash, which occurred while his 8-year-old daughter was a passenger in his vehicle.
Neither Knapp nor the child was reported injured.
The felony charge was lodged against him because he had a child in the car while he was allegedly intoxicated behind the wheel, police said.
Troopers said the incident was reported at about 12:10 a.m. Sunday. Knapp allegedly fled the scene with the child, and the two were found shortly later. Knapp, who has no previous DWI convictions, is scheduled to appear in Otego Town Court next Thursday.
Troopers at Sidney said it was not immediately clear from available records what type of object the vehicle struck.
