An Oneonta man was arrested on four misdemeanor charges after a family dispute, city police said.
Christopher VanBuren, 25, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless driving after an incident at about 9:45 a.m. at the former Center Street school building parking lot, police said.
VanBuren was in the passenger seat of a vehicle with his girlfriend, who was in the driver’s seat, when he reached over to control the accelerator and caused the vehicle to back up and hit another automobile, police said. Two young children were in VanBuren’s vehicle, police said.
He was held in the city lockup Monday pending an appearance in Oneonta City Court.
