COOPERSTOWN — The swiftness of a guilty verdict delivered by a jury that recently heard testimony in a drug case surprised even Otsego County District Attorney John Muehl.
It took just 10 minutes to convict Tammy L. Hotaling, 38, of Oneonta of third-degree criminal sale of crack cocaine, he said Wednesday.
“It was the fastest verdict in the history of the county,” the prosecutor said.
Hotaling, formerly of 252 County Highway 49, Morris, was convicted on May 22 of selling crack last July 5 while the transaction was being videotaped by investigators, Muehl said.
She was arrested by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office last August after she was indicted by a county grand jury.
She will be sentenced at a later date.
