Area police reported two arrests for growing marijuana in the area.
On Thursday, Scott C. Pearson, 31, on Oneonta, was arrested for third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, unlawful growing of marijuana, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fourth-degree criminal possession of weapon, all misdemeanors, Oneonta police said.
The arrest came after police with assistance of the Otsego deputies and their K-9 unit, executed a search warrant at his house at 498 Main St. in the city. According to police, they found 23 marijuana plants, with a value of $46,000, several controlled substance pills, a switchblade and several daggers. He was released on his own recognizance, to appear in Oneonta City Court July 3, police said.
On June 14, Otsego deputies arrested Joseph Salvatore Bush for having a hydroponic marijuana-grow operation in his residence at 1044, county Route 2 in Unadilla.
Responding to information about the growing operation, deputies said 10 plants and ¼ ounce of processed marijuana were seized. He was issued an appearance ticket appear in Unadilla Town Court July 1, deputies said.
