---- — A 28-year-old Broome County man is facing a felony rape charge after he allegedly had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl in the village of Sherbune, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.
Kyle Braman of Binghamton allegedly had an encounter with the girl — too young to legally consent to sex — in early July, authorities said.
Braman, who is being held at the county jail for lack of $10,000 bail, is scheduled to return to the Town of North Norwich Court on Friday.
He has been in custody since Sunday, when in addition to being charged with one count of second-degree rape, he was also arraigned on charges of third-degree criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child.
