Some of the changes necessary following a realignment of Oneonta City School District principals were detailed Wednesday.
At the most recent board of education meeting, Greater Plains Elementary School Principal Scott Rabeler was reassigned as supervisor of transportation and operations.
Superintendent Joseph Yelich, who started in his post July 1, said it was not the result of any situation but an effort to make sure the “right principal” was in each post. Rabeler is making $125,783.
Since Monday, Yelich said that high school Principal Nancy Osborn had been reassigned to the Greater Plains position.
Also starting this week, high school Associate Principal Thomas Brindley had been serving as acting high school principal pending an upcoming special board of education meeting.
At that time Yelich said he will recommend Brindley be assigned to the post.
The school is advertising for an assistant principal to fill the upcoming vacancy. No salary was given on the school website.
A candidate for the upcoming vacancy could be appointed at the special meeting, Yelich said. The change will not increase school spending, he said. Instead, other positions will not be filled to absorb the cost.
