A Florida man has been charged with attempted robbery, burglary and conspiracy in connection with a Dec. 23 incident that took place in Cooperstown.
Stephen Janiszeski of Ocoee, Fla., was arrested Wednesday at the Orange County Correctional Facility in Orlando, Fla., after a five-month investigation by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators determined that Janiszeski had accompanied Barry Renert on Dec. 23 when Renert entered the Seventh Inning Stretch on Cooperstown’s Main Street, where he confronted the owner and displayed a 9mm Glock handgun.
Janiszeski was arraigned by town of Otsego Judge Leslie Friedman and remanded to the Otsego County Jail without bail because of two previous felony convictions.
He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of the charges connected to the Cooperstown incident.
