Some road closures and precautionary evacuations were reported by emergency services in Delaware and Schoharie counties from Wednesday’s rains.
In Delaware County, Undersheriff Craig DuMond said at about 9 p.m. that emergency services personnel reported several roads were closed in the town of Colchester, including county Route 7. DuMond said emergency personnel were waiting for floodwaters to recede to make a better assessment of road conditions in the town.
Also in that county, some residents on Campbell Brook and River Roads were evacuated as a precaution, DuMond said.
A mudslide on state Route 30 between Roxbury and Grand Gorge also closed one lane of the roadway. State Route 28, between Andes and Margaretville, was closed, while in Hancock, Burnwood Road was closed by flooding, DuMond said.
In Schoharie County, a dispatcher said at about 10 p.m. there was a problem in Gilboa, where South Gilboa Road was closed by flooding. A residence on the road was being evacuated as a precaution, the dispatcher said.
Dispatchers in Otsego and Chenango counties said there were no storm-related incidents.
