An Arkville man was arrested Sunday night for attempted burglary of his grandfather’s gas station and convenience store, according to New York State Police Blotter.
According to the Arkville Country Market’s Facebook page, McKenzie C. Alexander, 23, worked as manager and lead cook at the store, which is located on State Route 28 in Arkville.
State police at Margaretville arrested Alexander at the Arkville Country Market at about 10:15 p.m., just five minutes after the burglary was reported, according to the blotter.
In May 2013, Catskill Mountain News reported that Alexander worked as store manager and primary chef at the Arkville Country Market, which is owned by his grandfather, Jay Renner.
Alexander had previously been a cook for three years at the Lake Delaware Boys’ School in Delhi, Catskill Mountain News reported.
Alexander was charged with third-degree burglary: illegal entry with intent, a class D felony, according to the blotter.
Owner of the store, Renner, declined to comment Wednesday on the attempted burglary.
