Night-time milling and paving of several downtown streets will begin today and is expected to be completed by July 17, a media release from the city of Oneonta said.
Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m, city officials said, and the anticipated schedule, weather permitting, will be as follows:
• Main Street parking lanes between Elm Street and Chestnut Street, with milling today and paving Thursday. The street will be closed during work.
• Oneonta Fire Department equipment bay ramp; milling today and paving Thursday, with traffic to be directed by flaggers.
• Dietz Street between Main and Wall, and Wall Street; milling Tuesday and paving July 15, with the streets to be closed during work.
• Main Street from Elm to Hunt, with milling Tuesday and Wednesday and paving July 14 and 16, with flaggers directing traffic.
Traffic signal loop detectors will be replaced at the intersections of Main and Dietz streets and at Main and Maple streets, officials said.
The project will conclude with restoration of pavement markings.
