---- — A Cooperstown man was arrested after a Cooperstown police officer responded to a report of a fight in progress at Stewart’s Shop on Chestnut Street, Cooperstown police said.
David J. Miller, 38, was charged with second-degree harassment, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and third-degree menacing, police said.
The following occurred, police said: An off-duty Cooperstown police officer broke up the fight. Local police as well as deputies and troopers arrived at the scene and after an investigation it was determined there was a verbal domestic dispute in the parking lot of the store. Miller was located and he resisted arrest and spit blood in an officer’s face.
He was arraigned in Cooperstown Village Court and sent to Otsego County jail on $3,000 cash and $6,000 bond bail. He is to to appear for further court action and faces up to six months in jail, police said.
