---- — Chenango County deputies have seized 100 pounds of marijuana and arrested at Sherburne man on drug and weapons charges.
The arrest came Thursday after a “no knock” raid was conducted at the home of Robert R. Reynolds, 52, of 476 Pleasant Valley Road, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.
In addition to the marijuana, deputies seized an unspecified quantity of oxycodone, more than $36,000 in cash, about $20,000 in personal property that allegedly were bought with proceeds of marijuana sales, several scales, packaging material and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
The raid cuminated a “lengthy investigation,” it said.
Reynolds was charged with felony criminal possession of marihuana in the first degree, felony criminal possession of controlled substance in the degree and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon fourth degree.
Deputies said that additional arrests are pending, and that additional property may be seized as the investigation continues.
“I would like to thank the Sheriff’s Office Detectives Division, especially my Narcotics Detective, for their hard work and dedication to further the sheriff’s office’s goal of eradicating drugs in Chenango County,” Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr. said in the press release.
Reynolds was arraigned in the Town of North Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $50,000.00 cash bail.
Village of Sherburne Police assisted in the investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
