Rep. Chris Gibson, R-Kinderhook, announced Tuesday the formation of a Watershed Advisory Group to work on issues related to the New York City watershed.
The WAG will collect feedback on watershed issues from residents, state and local officials, farmers, small business owners in the West-of-Hudson region, which is included in Gibson’s congressional district. The congressman has set up a section on his website to receive comments.
“Particularly given the devastating impact recent flooding has had combined with stymied economic opportunity, I believe it is imperative that we find improved ways to work together to ensure both the conveyance of clean water to New York City and the ability of local communities to thrive and flourish,” Gibson said in a media release.
