---- — Law enforcement officials ruled that a bomb threat at SUNY Delhi on Tuesday was a hoax, college officials said.

Evenden Tower at the State University College of Technology at Delhi was declared safe at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, a media release from the college said. A state police K-9 unit conducted an investigation of the building but found nothing unusual.

Classes in the tower will resume today after being canceled Tuesday, college officials said.

Evenden Tower was evacuated Tuesday after SUNY Delhi University Police and Delaware County 911 received calls at about 9:15 a.m. indicating that a bomb had been placed inside the building and was set to explode at about 10 a.m., college officials said.

After the calls, SUNY Delhi officials immediately instituted the college’s emergency management plan. Students, faculty and staff also were notified of the evacuation via NY Alert, campus email and voice mail, and the college’s public address system. Email was also utilized to notify and update parents of the threat and steps that the college was taking, the release said.

Officials from Delhi police, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the Delaware County Emergency Management Office and the Delhi Fire Department and assisted with the investigation.
