The City of Oneonta Republican Committee has endorsed Mayor Dick Miller for re-election.
“Mayor Miller has proven to be a strong leader for our city,” Russ Southard, chairman of the City of Oneonta Republican Committee, who represents the Sixth Ward on the Oneonta Common Council.
“His fiscal conservative approach to city finances has helped to put Oneonta back on track,” Southard said in a media release.
The committee considers Miller to be “the best candidate to continue to move Oneonta in the right direction,” he said.
Miller, an independent, was elected in 2009 and is seeking a second four-year term this November. Miller said he was honored be endorsed by the City of Oneonta Republican Committee.
“The issues we face are not Republican or Democrat; they are issues that affect each and every taxpayer and resident of the city,” Miller said in the release.
“I will continue to work to bring people together and focus on what unites us rather than what divides us to find solutions in the best interest of our city,” Miller said.
