City police arrest seven in drug case
Oneonta city police arrested seven people, five on felony charges, after executing two search warrants on Tuesday morning, a media release said.
The warrants were obtained subsequent to a month-long narcotics investigation involving the distribution of heroin and a recent armed robbery with assault.
During the searches, authorities found more than 70 packets of heroin with a street value of about $1,400, scales, hypodermic instruments, $250 cash and drug packaging materials.
The first search warrant was executed at 195 Main St. and, simultaneously, the second warrant was executed at 75 River St., the release said. The charges included felonies counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, robbery and second-degree assault, plus misdemeanor counts of criminal nuisance and endangering the welfare of a child.
Between 20 and 25 police, Otsego County deputies and parole authorities conducted the arrests and processing, police said, and the investigation continues.
