After about a 4:30-minute power failure, power was restored to downtown Oneonta at 2:30 p.m., according to Ann Carnrike, field customer service representative for New York State Electric and Gas.
About 900 customers were affected when a tree fell today at about 10 a.m., breaking a stub pole near Brenner Drive that led to the loss of two circuits feeding the city. The pole was inaccessible to bucket trucks so repair crew had to go up and down the pole manually, slowing repairs, she said.
Streets affected included: Main Street, Center Street, Dietz Street, Church Street, Maple Street, Market Street, Monroe Avenue, Myrtle Avenue, Otsego Street, Pine Street, Reynolds Avenue, South Main Street, Walnut Street, Church Street and Spruce Street.
