---- — The Oneonta City School District Board of Education changed leadership Wednesday during its re-organizational meeting, which was followed by a regular meeting, at the district office in the Center Street building.

Jamie Reynolds took over as president, and Bill Grau was voted in as vice president by the seven-member board.

Both Grace Larkin, who served as president for more than five years, and Rosalie Higgins, who served as vice president for two years, continue to serve on the board.

Larkin said it was important that the board have a new perspective. She said her tenure as president was a “rewarding opportunity,” though the last two years were difficult, as the board made a number of cuts to staff and facilities to meet budget challenges.

Reynolds thanked the board for its confidence in him. He also thanked Larkin and Higgins for their service and said he was glad both were staying on the board because he will rely on their many talents moving forward.

It was also the first board meeting for recently appointed Superintendent Joseph Yelich, who thanked the board for the opportunity.

Board member Melissa Jervis also started her term on the board. She was elected in May.
