SUNY Delhi student has been arrested and accused of possessing cocaine with intent to sell.
Officers from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gregory J. Nielsen, 19, of Port Jefferson on Monday night after acting on a search warrant at his apartment in the village of Delhi.
Nielson was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, following the raid by sheriff’s officers, Delaware County probation officers and Delhi police.
Nielsen is accused of possessing cocaine with intent to sell, and the deputies said they expect to file additional charges.
Undersheriff Craig DuMond said Nielsen had about 8 grams of cocaine.
In addition, a small quantity of marijuana, digital scales and cash were seized, he said.
Nielsen was arraigned in Delhi Town Court and remanded to Delaware County jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bail bond.
