A Chenango County man has been accused of selling cocaine to another person in the town of Oneonta in January, a media release from Otsego deputies said Monday.
Michael John Hunt, 37, of West Edmeston, has been charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, deputies said.
Hunt was arrested after a narcotics investigation conducted by deputies with assistance from the Oneonta Police Department Detective Bureau.
Hunt, a twice-convicted felon, was indicted by a grand jury and an arrest warrant was issued.
Otsego County investigators contacted Chenango County Sheriff’s Office detectives, who located Hunt at his town of Columbus residence, the release said.
Hunt was arraigned in Otsego County Court before Judge John F. Lambert and was sent to Otsego jail on $20,000 bail.
Deputies said he faces up to 15 years to life in prison if convicted on the drug sale charge.
