A Bainbridge man was charged with drunken driving after a personal injury accident in Oneonta, city police said.
Edward Gagliano, 23, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated and moving from a lane unsafely after the vehicle he was driving hit a tree across the street from City Hall, police said.
Officers on patrol in the area of Main and Maple streets heard a bang at about 2:45 a.m. and they found a vehicle perpendicular in the roadway, Lt. Douglas Brenner said Tuesday. Officers saw a female unconscious with possible injuries from deployed air bag, he said, and they called for the Oneonta ambulance, which initially took her to A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
The woman, whose identity wasn’t available, had been released Monday from a hospital, said Brenner, citing a preliminary report.
