Voters across the state go to the polls today to decide the fate of their local school budgets. In many cases, the selection of board of education candidates and propositions are on the ballot.

The hours at polling places may vary. In Oneonta City School District voting takes place at Foothills Performing Arts from noon to 9 p.m. At

Delaware Academy Central School it will be held in the middle school lobby. Sidney Central School balloting is in the high school auditorium from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and at Walton Central from noon to 9 p.m. in the bus garage.

Area woman faces fugitive charges

A New Berlin woman has been charged as a fugitive from justice, state police at Oneonta said.

Heather R. Miller, 31, was charged Friday, May 17, on felony fugitive charge and petit larceny and false personation, misdemeanors, troopers said in a media report. She was held.

Man charged with felony contempt

A South New Berlin man has been charged with felony criminal contempt, state police at Sidney said.

Richard C. Izard, 35, also was charged Friday, May 17, with criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, troopers said, and he was held.

Police: Man broke order of protection

A Bainbridge man has been accused of violating an order of protection, state police at Sidney said.

Mark S. Sickler, 54, was charged Friday, May 18, with criminal contempt, a felony, and he was held, troopers said.
