Robinson Terrace Senior Living Facility holds ribbon-cutting

The newly constructed Robinson Terrace Senior Living Facility in Stamford was inaugurated Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting with state Sen. John Bonacic, R-Mount Hope, and Assemblyman Cliff Crouch, R-Bainbridge.

The 60-bed, $10 million project was funded by a state Healthcare Efficiency and Affordability Law, or HEAL, grant and a Community Block Development Grant.

The facility features private studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as common areas, an exercise room and outdoor sitting areas.

Project administrator Pam Harmon of Robinson Terrace said previously that the facility will fill a need in the region.

Harmon said there is only one Level 2 adult home in the area _ Kirkside, in Roxbury _ and no assisted living facilities. Level 2 is a lower level of care than assisted-living.

She said since 2006, Delaware County has lost four adult-care homes, and Countryside Care Center has downsized, resulting in a loss of 211 skilled nursing facility beds.

The Senior Living Facility, at the corner of county Route 18 and Buntline Drive, will be open for public tours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information, call 652-2960.
