The 2013 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is scheduled to stop at 1:15 p.m. today at the James Georgeson Avenue railroad crossing in Oneonta.
The holiday train consists of 14 decorated rail cars, including a modified boxcar that turns into a traveling stage for performers. Musicians traveling aboard the trains will perform with Canadian Pacific asking that attendees bring nonperishable food or cash donations to support local food programs. In Oneonta this includes Opportunities for Otsego.
The train marks the beginning of the holiday season, while “providing valuable resources to our community to help families struggling to make ends meet,” OFO Chief Executive Officer Dan Maskin said.
