One business among 19 in Schoharie County didn’t pass an undercover operation to thwart alcohol sales to minors.
On Friday, state police at Cobleskill and the Cobleskill Police Department conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative to check 19 bars and convenience and liquor stores in the village of Cobleskill and Schoharie County.
As a result of a check of operations at Countryside Mart, 332 Main St., Schoharie, John Felitti, 26, of Cobleskill, was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor, and unlawful sale of alcohol to a minor, a violation, a media release from Cobleskill troopers said.
During the investigation, an undercover underage volunteer went into each establishment to try to purchase alcohol from a clerk or bartender. Businesses where a violation occurred will be referred to the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, the release said.
