The impact of local purchases, especially in the ongoing holiday shopping season, will be addressed in a panel discussion Wednesday morning during a kick-off for the “Think Local First” campaign, organizers said.
The event will be at Springbrook in the North Campus Cafeteria, 105 Campus Drive, off of state Route 28, Milford, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce and the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce have initiated the Think Local First campaign to support local businesses and economy.
The event Wednesday will address the purchasing power of dollars in the local economy, according to organizers, and the importance of supporting small businesses in the region.
Panel participants will be Jeff Haggerty of Ace Hardware, Betsy Westad Cunningham of Artware, Chad Welch of Smith Cooperstown and Scott White of the Bank of Cooperstown. Panelists will share personal and professional viewpoints on shopping and supporting local business, according to a notice about the event, and questions and feedback will be welcomed.
Businesses, employees, relatives and friends are welcome to attend, organizers said.
A continental breakfast will be served, and the Otsego County Chamber requests that reservations be made by today at 432-4500, ext. 202, or by email at email@example.com.
