---- — An Edmeston woman faces felony charges stemming from the theft of guns from a New Lisbon residence, Otsego County deputies said, and she has been charged with felony counts of attempted assault of law enforcement officers.

Angela E. Feitzinger, 24, was charged Thursday with grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, all felonies, deputies said.

On Monday, Feitzinger was charged with two counts of attempted assault for alleged trying to bite two sheriff’s office employees Thursday night, a media release said. She also was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, misdemeanors, deputies said.

Deputies said Feitzinger “became enraged regarding her arrest” Thursday in the handguns case, and she struggled with authorities trying to handcuff her. She allegedly tried to bite an investigator and ripped his shirt, the release said, then later allegedly tried to bite a corrections officer.

Feitzinger was arraigned on the charges lodged Monday in Middlefield Town Court where Judge Donna Yerdon added $2,000 bail to set in the firearms case, deputies said.

In September, a New Lisbon resident reported to deputies that three registered semi-automatic handguns were missing from his home, according to a media release.

Feitzinger was accused of stealing the weapons from the residence and later selling two of the guns in Utica, deputies said. The third stolen handgun was recovered by deputies after it was stored in a Hartwick Seminary storage unit with some of Feitzinger’s personal property.

Feitzinger was located Thursday in a vehicle on state Route 28 during a road check, the release said, and she was taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning. She was arraigned in New Lisbon Town Court before Judge Bruce Moskos, who sent her to the county jail on $10,000 bail. She is to reappear in court Jan. 22.
