---- — A Delhi teenager has been charged with a felony after he led police on a 30-mile, two-county car chase on a road through the Catskill Mountains.

Wade D. Armstrong, 16, was charged at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday with first-degree reckless endangerment, a felony, and third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, state police at Margaretville said in a media release.

Troopers said the pursuit began Wednesday in the Delaware County town of Andes when they spotted a minivan on state Route 28, near Gladstone Hollow. The van matched the description of a vehicle sought by the county sheriff’s office.

When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, Armstrong fled east on state Route 28 into neighboring Ulster County. The chase finally ended in the hamlet of Shokan after troopers placed a tire deflation device across the road.

Armstrong was taken into custody after a brief foot chase, and troopers said he was arraigned in Andes Town Court and sent to Delaware County jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.
