An 20-year-old man has been charged with drunken driving and felony weapons possession, state police at Oneonta said.
Alexander D. Drost of Greene was charged Monday with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop on Interstate 88 in the town of Oneonta at 4:20 p.m. Monday, troopers said.
Troopers said he had a loaded pistol. Drost also was charged with driving while intoxicated, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and having a controlled substance in a nonoriginal container, troopers said in a media report.
Drost was arraigned in Oneonta Town Court and sent to Otsego County jail on $3,500 cash bail or $7,000 bond, troopers said, and an investigation continues.
