---- — Two Schoharie men have been arrested in connection with burglarizing residences, including one owned by Assemblyman Peter Lopez, state police at Cobleskill said.
Connor Casabonne, 20, and Bryan Lemoine, 20, who live on Main Street in the village of Schoharie, were each charged Friday, May 3, with two counts of second-degree burglary, troopers said.
The arrests stem from an investigation that began April 27 with the report of a burglary to a residence in the town of Schoharie and another reported April 29 involving a Schoharie village residence owned by Lopez, troopers said.
The residences were randomly selected and entered during the daytime, troopers said. The majority of property stolen was cash and jewelry, some of which has been recovered, troopers said. Schoharie police assisted in the investigation.
Casabonne and Lemoine were arraigned in Schoharie Town Court, troopers said. Casabonne was held in lieu of $20,000 cash bail, and Lemoine was held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
Also, state police at Fonda charged Casabonne on Friday, May 3, with grand larceny of a firearm.
