---- — A local program connecting schoolchildren with gardening will continue with an event Tuesday in Roxbury.
Farm Catskills and “Story” Laurie McIntosh will join students at Roxbury Central School for a program of creative music written and performed by elementary school children.
The program, which is open to the public, will begin at 2:15 p.m.
This event is part of the Cultivating Connections program, designed and conducted by Laurie McIntosh in partnership with Farm Catskills. Cultivating Connections is an interactive songwriting workshop for elementary classes designed to connect kids to the world around them and to their studies in new ways, particularly with regard to plants, how they grow, and how clean water and healthy soil are essential to a plant’s ability to grow strong and produce the foods for our communities.
Similar events have taken place at Delaware Academy, South Kortright and Andes Central School. Photos and information about past Cultivating Connections programs can be found on the Farm Catskills Facebook Page.
