A New Lisbon man has been arrested for allegedly selling, growing and possessing marijuana, Otsego County deputies said in a media release.
James Michael Longcor Jr., 26, of 307 Bardin Road in Mount Vision, was charged Wednesday with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, growing cannabis and fourth-degree criminal sale of marijuana, misdemeanors, deputies said.
The arrest was the result of a narcotics investigation conducted by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Oneonta Police Department Detective Bureau with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Friday release said.
In January 2012, marijuana was purchased from Longcor through a confidential informant, the release said, and in May, investigators, detectives and DEA agents searched Longcor’s residence and seized 70 marijuana plants, about 10½ ounces of processed marijuana valued at $3,500, an electronic scale and $200.
Longcor turned himself in at the sheriff’s office and was issued a ticket to appear in New Lisbon Town Court on Jan. 23. If convicted on the felony charge, he faces up to a year and a half in prison, the release said.
