Tanya Tucker Foothills show postponed

Mel Tillis to appear Dec. 21

ONEONTA — The Tanya Tucker show scheduled for the Foothills Performing Arts Center on Dec. 9 has been rescheduled for Aug. 17 of next year because of undisclosed health concerns for Tucker, according to Huemac Garcia, Foothills executive director.

Garcia also announced in a media release a Christmas concert with country and western star Mel Tillis for Dec. 21, 2012. Tillis was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry in 2007. Best known for his hits "I Ain't Never," "Good Woman Blues" and "Coca-Cola Cowboy," Tillis was awarded the National Medal of Arts on Feb. 13 by President Barack Obama. Tickets for his show will go on sale Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.

Tucker's tour has been postponed for the next six months. Garcia said in a media release that those who have purchased tickets for the Dec. 9 show may keep them for the 2013 show, exchange them for the Mel Tillis show or receive a refund from Foothills (607-431-2080). For Frontgate online purchases the number is 1-800-512-7469.

Another change announced by Garcia is in the Capitol Steps event on Oct. 28. There will be one 90-minute show, with the scheduled second show at 8 p.m. canceled. Refunds are available at the Foothills box office (607-431-2080).

Garcia also announced two more shows for Foothills. On Jan. 19, there will be a concert by The Little River Band, and on March 8, a concert By Rusted Root. Tickets for those shows will go on sale shortly.
