-- — Two Hancock men are facing trespass charges after venturing on to private railroad property while cutting trees, State Police reported Wednesday.
Paul H. Cicio and Frank H. Couse Sr., each 68 years old, were issued tickets directing them to appear in Hancock town court on April 7.
The arrests were made Tuesday by troopers attached to the State Police station in Deposit. A trooper at the station Wednesday morning said he had no available information as to why the two were allegedly taking down trees.
Couse told The Daily Star on Thursday that he and Cicio had been working on trees on an adjoining property, and entered the railroad property to clean up after their work. State police confirmed that the pair did not remove anything belonging to the railroad.
