---- — An Oxford man was arrested on three felony counts, including reckless endangerment, after Chenango County deputies investigated a shooting incident.
Martin P. Provo, 40, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree degree criminal possession of marijuana, deputies said in a media release. He was arraigned in Norwich Town Court and sent to the county jail on $10,000 cash bail.
An unnamed man driving a vehicle was the target of shots fired, deputies said, and bullets struck the passenger side of the vehicle. As the motorist fled, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Sheriff’s detectives and road patrol officers executed a search warrant at 427 Lyon Brook Road, the location of the reported shooting, and Provo was located there in a wooded area.
Deputies recovered the shotgun used in the incident, shell casings, about 1.75 ounces of powder cocaine, several pounds of marijuana, a digital scale, and more than $3,800 in cash. Several other guns also were seized, the release said, and additional charges are pending.
