Crews extricate man after auto accident

Emergency crews spent about an hour extricating a man from a truck that crashed into a tree in the village of Otego, state police at Oneonta said Sunday.

Lukasz A. Kubisiak, 35, of Wayne, N.J., was taken by ambulance to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown for leg injuries, including possible fractures, Trooper Michael Woytach said Sunday. Two other occupants in the truck weren’t injured and were able to get out of the vehicle without extrication, the trooper said.

The crash happened on state Route 7 near 314 Main St. at about 10:40 a.m., Woytach said. Occupants reported that the driver may have fallen asleep, the trooper said. No tickets were issued.
