Investigators interview missing woman's children

The Daily Star

---- — Investigators probing the disappearance of 36-year-old Jennifer Renz Ramsaran have interviewed her three young children and other family members, but they could offer no information explaining why she has vanished, Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting Jr. said Wednesday.

The stay-at-home mom from Sheff Road in New Berlin was last seen on the morning of Dec. 11. Her husband, Ganesh Remy Ramsaran, told investigators his wife advised him that she was headed to the Destiny USA mall in Syracuse before she left the house at about 10:30 a.m., the sheriff said.

By then, the sheriff said, the children were already in school. “There was no problem (at the house) when they went to school,” he said.

On Wednesday, state troopers and forest rangers continued to conduct a ground search of the 18 acres surrounding the couple’s home. Cutting said the search produced no new solid clues.

“We will be expanding the search from there,” Cutting said.

The sheriff also confirmed a report in The Daily Star on Wednesday that indicated Jennifer Ramsaran had a hobby of playing online games.

He said State Police computer experts are expected to reach out to her various online contacts — such as her Facebook friends — to determine if any of them can offer information explaining her disappearance.

The Chrysler Town & Country minivan Rasmaran was driving that day was found by police at the Plank Road Apartments in the city of Norwich. Her cellphone was located farther west alongside the north side of state Route 23 in Plymouth, near Moon Hill Road.

Cutting said Ramsaran likely would have taken state Route 23 if she was headed to the Syracuse mall from her home in state Route 23.

Investigators asked that anyone with information about Ramsaran’s disappearance to contact the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office at 334-2000. Authorities said all calls will be kept confidential.
