Former area wrestling coach retires

Former SUNY Delhi wrestling coach Frank Millard has retired from the sport after 45 years of service.

Millard has spent his last 23 years as the head coach at The Northfield Mount Hermon Prep School in Northfield, Mass.

He also coached 14 years at SUNY Delhi, one at SUNY Potsdam, five at The Manlius Military School and two at Carthage Central, where he started his career. Millard, a member of the New York chapter of the National the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, is the coordinator of physical education at Northfield. He retired with an all-time dual-meet record of 718-204-3.

He led Delhi to a record 92 consecutive dual-meet wins from 1978-83. Following that streak, his Broncos went 36-0. Millard then moved on to Northfield.

Millard's final season at Northfield ended with the school's first New England Prep School Championship. Northfield also won its fifth Class A League championship and finished 21-1 in dual meets this past season.

The company said the 120-yard, par-3 hole was nominated for its forced carry to a 2,000-square-foot green that slopes 30 degrees from left to right toward a long bunker.

Winning holes will be announced quarterly. For contest updates, visit the website www.johndeerecredit.com/brutalgolfholes.
