Softball meeting April 10 at Dino’s

Baseball Hall to feature board games The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown will present a collection of baseball board games April 12 in a temporary exhibit

More than 50 games will be featured in the exhibit “Home Games: A Century of Baseball Games from the Collection of Dr. Mark Cooper,” which will run through the end of 2008 in the Hall’s Halper Gallery.

The games are from the private collection of Dr. Cooper, a longtime baseball fan who lives near Philadelphia. The exhibit will include the oldest existing baseball board game, The New Parlor Game of Base Ball, which dates back to the first year of professional baseball in 1869. Youth parade in Worcester on May 3 The Worcester Baseball Organization, Inc. will hold a Little League and Girls Softball Opening Day Parade at 9 a.m. May 3 at Worcester Central.

All players must report by 8:30 a.m. May 3 for the parade, which will begin on Main Street and end at the Little League field. Team pictures will follow Opening Day ceremonies. The WBO, which is seeking volunteers to umpire little league games and to coach at the little league and T-ball levels, also will hold registration from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the M&M Building.

OBGC to host archery competition

The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club will host the New York Field Archers and Bowhunters Indoor State Championship on Sunday. Shooting lines start at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Little League registration Thursday

Bainbridge-Guilford Little League will hold registration from 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Guilford School. For more information, call Mike Deshaw at 607-967-4537. Wrestling clinics to continue The Red Dragon Wrestling Clinic Series will continue to run Tuesday and Thursday nights through April 22 in the wrestling room of Oneonta State’s Chase Physical Education Building.

The elementary school division meets from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and will be followed by the middle/high school division from 7:30-9 p.m. Cost is $45.

OBGC accepting softball registration The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club is accepting registrations for its Spring Softball League for girls ages 8-10 and 11-12. This instructional league, with volunteer coaches and umpires, emphasizes player participation. Space is limited. Indoor practices run from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursdays. Futsol tourney to run March 29-30 The Schenevus Soccer Club will host its fourth annual Futsol tournaments on March 29 and 30.

Boys and girls high school players will compete March 29, followed by boys and girls in grades 7-8 on March 30. The SSC is seeking teams for the tournaments, which are not co-ed. Roster sizes should be 6-to-10 players. Each side will play four in the field and one goalie at a time. Cost is $80 per team, and registration deadline is March 21. Hartwick swimming lessons March 31

The Hartwick College swimming and diving teams will offer half-hour lessons for beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmers from March 31-May 16 at the school’s Moyer Pool.

Cost is $10 per 30-minute session of 1-on-1 instruction. Lessons run from 3:30-6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 3-4 p.m. Fridays.
